I visit Flagstaff, Arizona on a regular basis. Every time I go I try and shoot at a shitkicker western saloon, Joe's Place, on the corner of old Route 66 and Main Street.
Several years ago, I went looking for a model in the local strip house on the bad side of the Santa Fe Railroad tracks. I was shown the obligatory Hollywood fake-breasted starlet and chose instead this gazelle named Alice, a local girl.
Alice is a rodeo rider trained at "cutting" cattle. She's extremely physical and extremely sexual. She's very bright but has had little formal education. She's told me, casually, that she's had sex with many men before she was 19 years old. She's done lap dancing in El Paso, stripped in Bourbon Street, and had a fiance in Yuma.
She has also traveled to Las Vegas with me. She is the star of my video Girdle Gulch, in which she strips on a mesa, straddles a Cadillac car fin, tongues a brunette, and sucks her big toe in a bathtub for a long time.
Alice is a chameleon. One day she is a blonde, the next week a redhead. The first time I shoot her we are alone and I have her strip down to her white 1950s bra and girdle and lounge across my rented car by the side of a busy intersection at sunset. We get busted for indecent exposure by four cops converging from all directions! I explain that Madonna wears less in public. But this is Arizona. And I have what I wanted on film, including the bust. I turn off the camera and Alice gets dressed. Calmly. The cops leave.
